Adding audio sample to GarageBand
Connect the iPad, select it in the left-hand column, open the Apps tab, scroll down to File Sharing, select GarageBand, add files with the button or drag and drop onto the file area. Files should be uncompressed audio in AIFF, WAV, CAF or Apple Loops format at 16bit, 44.1 kHz.
In GarageBand, record any audio from any input device and save the document. In the finder, view the 'Package Contents' of your song document and navigate to the Media folder. Rename your existing AIFF song to the name of the file in the Media folder (ie: Recording#01.aif) and replace the audio file from step 1. Re-open your document in GarageBand. On your iOS device: Open GarageBand. If you're not already, switch to the multi-track view by tapping the button. In the upper right-hand area, you should see a loop icon with the number of newly transferred files on top of it, like this: Tap this icon. It brings up a screen like this.
