The Providence-class Carrier/Destroyer was designed by the Quarren Free Dac Volunteers Engineering Corps, resulting in a rounded, pseudo-organic aesthetic, influenced by the planet Dac. This would be echoed in the design of the later Mon Calamari Star Cruisers.
The surface of the Providence is dotted with heavy weapons emplacements capable of piercing through the shields and hulls of enemy vessels. The ponderous cannons, though, are too slow to target starfighters and are therefore supplemented with 34 dual laser cannons. The reactors onboard each vessel produce so much power, even their point-defense ion cannons are each capable of delivering enough heat per shot to rival a 4.8 megaton bomb. This weaponry and armor make them capable of taking on Victory and Venator-class Star Destroyers.
The bridge of the cruiser is located on a platform resting atop the bow of the vessel, before the bow begin to taper to its pointed nose. The bridge features huge panoramic windows surrounding the bulked out command chair occupied by the captain. Towards the aft end of the craft is a towering fin-like spire that rise from the rest of the hull. Within this spire rests communication and sensor pods, along with the quarters of the officers, and a tactical command center.
