Congratulation! The Marine Deck Officer and Marine Engineer Warrant Officer specialties have implemented a pilot program to authorize all Army MOSs for application and we believe you meet the initial qualifications to apply. Due to an expanding need for Army Watercraft in support of global DoD and Humanitarian Support requirements, the USA, USAR and ARNG are in need of highly qualified and motivated non-commissioned officers to fill critical shortages within our Warrant Officer ranks in the Army Watercraft Field.

For this reason, NCOs in the grade of E6 or higher who represent the technical and professional best in their respective career fields are highly encouraged to consider joining the ranks of the Marine Warrant Officer cohort. As the technical foundation of the Army, Warrant Officers are uniquely responsible for serving as experts in their field, trusted commander’s advisors, valuable mission planners and trainers. As a Marine Deck Officer you will command Army vessels (Class A1 and A2) operating on lakes, bays, rivers, sounds, coastal, and open ocean waters. As a Marine Engineer Warrant Officer you will be responsible for the efficient and economical operation of the engine room machinery, auxiliary machinery, and specific deck equipment.
