Ownership: more than 1 year

Pros: I love supporting Micron and love even more that their latest SSDs (the BX100 included) are top-tier performers relative to competing products. This SSD has been deployed in a security appliance box and has so far performed flawlessly.

Cons: None so far.

Overall Review: Of course, this SSD has only been in service for a little over a week so I can't comment on long-term performance/reliability. I will update this review accordingly if anything arises, however my experience with other Micron drives built on the same 16 nm process has been very positive.
Update 12/19/2016: This drive has been operating 24/7 in my router/firewall box for over a year now and no issues whatsoever.

Ownership: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: Inexpensive and fast

Cons: I have had this for about a year, and it has started to drop out. I get errors of this sort:
Source: iaStorA
Event ID: 129
Description: Reset to device, DeviceRaidPort0, was issued.
Source: Disk
Event ID: 51
Description: An error was detected on device DeviceHarddisk2DR2 during a paging operation.
Source: Ntfs
Event ID: 57
Description: The system failed to flush data to the transaction log. Corruption may occur.
To fix it, I have to shut down the PC completely, with power off for 30 seconds, and reboot.

Overall Review: I use this only for daily backup of files, so very little is written to it. It should last forever.
I have had problems with two MX100 drives also, which are somewhat similar. The MX200 series is better, thus far.

Ownership: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: It's good for my budget, fast and stable.
I can use Crucial Storage Executive to manage and upgrade firmware for this.
Will buy Crucial SSD for my next build.

Cons: None so far.

Ownership: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: Very quick SSD (For the year it was made and using the ACHI protocol still). Win 7 automatically picks it up at boot.

Cons: None really other than the ACHI protocol is going to be replaced soon by nVme

Overall Review: 120GB is great for a boot device, but only for such matters. Your better off getting a 240GB or above if you plan to put games, videos, or High Quality photos.

Ownership: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: This drive has worked wonders for my start-up! I timed the start from a dead stop, and came to a impressive 37 seconds from button push to active desktop. That's including me selecting the account for Windows 7! This drive is marketed as the 'affordable' SSD upgrade, and that is definitively what it is. If your'e looking for something to speed up your computer significantly, then I truly suggest you give this drive a shot. Although it is more expensive than its counterparts, the old adage, 'you get what you pay for' stands true with this one. Trust me on this, it is TOTALLY WORTH THE BUY!

Overall Review: Why are you still reading this and not at checkout?

Ownership: 1 day to 1 week

Pros: First few days and nothing but great performance. New build using this drive as boot drive and Windows 8.1 OEM (system builder). Cold boots to user login screen in about 12 seconds. So far it's a great drive, as expected from Crucial.

Cons: None

Ownership: less than 1 day

Pros: I have two crucial SSD's in my main rig, one is an M500 CT120M500SSD1 and the other is an CT240M500SSD1. Both have been excellent. Blazing fast and reliable, after a year I have had no issues and based on those two I would recommend Crucial. However...

Cons: I got an empty box. Nothing. Zero. One sealed, and empty box. I was so excited when the delivery came and I could put this build together that I had planned for weeks. But now I don't know if I can even get my order fixed. Can I RMA an empty box? Who wants to spend $150 on one 120gb SSD? This isn't 2013. Hopefully Crucial or Newegg can come through and fix this. I will be back to post updates. In the meantime I suggest that maybe you wait or look at a competitor. I still cant believe it. An EMPTY BOX.

Overall Review: It was empty.

Ownership: 1 day to 1 week

Pros: -Price
-It's a Solid State Drive!
-Decently fast

Cons: -Not as fast as a Samsung or Intel
-No included bracket/screws

Overall Review: I bought this to upgrade a friend's macbook pro. According to a benchmark I saw online:
Here are the SSD speed results using CrystalDiskMark 64-bit:
- THIS DRIVE: Crucial BX100 250GB SATA 2.5 Inch Internal Solid State Drive - CT250BX100SSD1 : 541 MB/s read and 377 MB/s write
- Samsung 840 EVO 250GB 2.5-Inch SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (MZ-7TE250BW) : 510 MB/s read and 480 MB/s write (with Samsung Magician performance boost turned off, insane speeds with it turned on)
- Crucial MX100 256GB SATA 2.5' 7mm Internal Solid State Drive CT256MX100SSD1 : 484 MB/s read and 460 MB/s write
- AMD Radeon R7 Series 240GB 2.5-Inch SATA III 7mm Ultra Slim SSD RADEON-R7SSD-240G : 468 MB/s read and 506 MB/s write
- OCZ Storage Solutions Arc 100 Series 240GB SATA III Ultra-Slim SSD ARC100-25SAT3-240G : 419 MB/s read and 429 MB/s write

I'm looking at getting a SATA III SSD of at least 80GB (double what I currently have) but of course larger is preferred.

My limit is $75 and my wife would prefer that to be even lower.

A friend of mine suggested Crucial. I've found that they are well viewed, usually just beat out by the Samsung Evo SSDs in main suggestions.

I've found the new BX100 120GB is within my price range, as well as the older MX100 128GB. But I can't find anything comparing the two. I also found the Samsung 850 Evo 120GB came in just under my limit.

My wife would prefer the MX100 for me since its cheaper but the write speed is dramatically lower than the other two. But I'm not sure how noticeable it would be.

Would love some advice with choosing between the three, or if you have any suggestions for something better within my price range.

Appreciate your time. Thank you.
